The ice is melting off of Clear Creek but the river is still mostly clear. There is a small window between now and run-off. Bugs have even been seen flying around the creek. Mostly just midges but that is still a good sign for clear creek!
I've been getting most of my fish on a size 18-22 Beadhead Brassie. The Caddis aren't prevalent on the creek yet but that doesn't mean that nymphs aren't swimming around in the water! Caddis and midges should work well. Small dry flies like a Parachute Adams might convince a weary trout. Spring is in the air! Get out there! Tips up! Josh
